Social Responsibility at Volt

Volt is part of Varner, a Norwegian family-owned company. We have a focus on sustainable solutions and are committed to be a responsible business actor. This means we work to respect decent work and human rights in our production, to reduce our climate and environmental impacts, as well as to ensure that are products are safe to use.

All factories must be approved by Varner´s local Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Environmental Specialists. We have established local production offices in our main production markets: China, India, Bangladesh, and Türkiye. At each office, we have teams working with human rights and decent work, environment and climate, as well as quality control and product safety.

Varner's ethical guidelines are shared across all Varner private label brands. These guidelines have been developed in collaboration with the Ethical Trading Initiative (IEH) and are based on international conventions. They outline requirements both for our own company, as well as for our suppliers. They emphasize compliance with laws and regulations, non-discrimination, prohibition of forced and child labor, the right to unionize and engage in collective bargaining, as well as fair wages and decent conditions.

Requirements for Third-party Brands

All our third-party brands go through an approval process before we can sell their products in our stores. This process involves an evaluation of their procedures for monitoring labor conditions in their supply chain and their product safety protocols.

Do you want to learn more about how our third-party brands work on environmental issues, labor rights, and human rights? Contact them directly or visit their websites for more information.
