Social Responsibility

Volt is part of the Norwegian textile group, the Varner.

Varner listens to everything its employees and customers have to say, and therefore has drawn up standard ethical guidelines for all chains, holds courses for buyers and works in close collaboration with its suppliers on ethics-related issues.

Varner’s ethical guidelines describe how our suppliers and we must manage ethical issues, such as terms and conditions of employment in Chinese factories, animal rights, and environmental preservation. Agreements signed with our suppliers are binding and closely monitored. This is a major task, and to ensure that our guidelines are complied with and efficient we have joined the Ethical Trading Initiative – the ETI. As a member of ETI, we undertake to document that we constantly work on specific measures to ensure that our goods are not produced under unworthy working conditions.
